Thoughts on Game of Thrones Season Five Episode Three “High Sparrow” (Non book reader so please no book spoilers)

Great episode!  Finally we’re getting some action, along with more table setting for things to come.  My thoughts in no particular order:

1.Hooray for Jon Snow Stark! Finally we get to see a tougher side of him that we needed to see because he is now the leader of this group. Good leaders make the hard choices and Jon did so here. Note that Stannis was watching this closely and I’m sure that will have some impact on how he brings Jon into the fold, so to speak.

2.Is the House of Black and White turning into Daenerys’ time at the House of the Undying? If so, boring! We all know Arya will be trained to exact revenge on those who killed her family but do we have to see every painstaking detail of how this happens? I find the whole storyline tired and boring. Bring her back later unexpectedly and let her take out her enemies. Give us viewers some credit that we don’t have to see her become an assassin to believe it.

3.Loved Daenerys’ “body double”. Enough said.

4.No, Sansa, no! Poor Sansa. She finally gets a cool new haircolor and matching outfits. But now she has to marry Ramsay Bolton? No way this will happen. I hope Sansa has finally wised up and will use what she’s learned from Littlefinger to undermine the Boltons and ultimately obtain her revenge on them. Perhaps Jon and Stannis will help in this regard?

5.Still bored by Cersei and want her off the show. Margaery rocks and it’s time to let her take over the role as queen bee. Cersei is now a caricature and needs to go.

Thanks for reading! Until next time…

  1. The Sansa/Bolton thing is weird. No one would ever marry into the family that murdered their family. But ok, I get it, Littlefinger has a plan. She’ll go along with it. She trusts him. But are the Boltons that stupid to invite someone in with a motive for revenge against them?
